Amie Thornton has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer for JFK Medical Center, replacing Scott Gebhard, who will retire in March.
In her new role, Amie will oversee several areas at JFK, including operations, facilities, nursing, JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, JFK Neuroscience Institute
Amie joined JFK in 2005 as the vice president of the project management office, leading the organization’s clinical computerization initiatives and deployment of a Six and Lean Sigma process improvement methodology. Most recently, she was senior vice president of operations.
Prior to joining JFK, Amie served as Administrator of Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark and as Assistant Commissioner of
Amie received a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
Her promotion took effect on January 31. Congratulations to Amie on her continued service to Hackensack Meridian Health and JFK.
