What you need to know
A 4-hour downtime to upgrade Epic will occur on Saturday, February 22.
The upgrade includes changes to increase efficiency, improve care delivery, and meet new regulatory requirements. Although this upgrade includes hundreds of changes, only a small number will have a noticeable impact on workflows.
Application-specific educational materials are available on the Epic Learning Home Dashboard and on the Epic Resource Center. You can preview upgrade changes in the Epic Playground.
During this downtime, the system will be in a “Read Only” state which allows full access to retrieve information including census, results and medication records, but does not allow updates or changes.
Information in Epic will be up-to-date when the downtime begins. However, no new information will appear until the downtime is completed. Please take this time to review your local downtime procedures and prepare an Epic downtime procedure for 2019 novel coronavirus travel screening.
