What You Need To Know
- Governor Murphy recently signed the Health Care Heroes Violence Prevention Act into law.
- The new law
makes it a criminal offense to intentionally threaten any health care professional in an effort to intimidate them or interfere with their work. Individuals can pursue action or press charges as appropriate. - Hackensack Meridian Health worked closely with government officials for more than a year to ensure that this law was expansive and covered ALL of our team members, including volunteers, per diem workers and contracted vendors.
- We will post signage at the entrances of each of our locations to inform all who enter our facilities about this law.
