What You Need To Know
Michael P. Eagan, MD FACEP, has been named vice president, Chief Medical Officer, Old Bridge Medical Center and Raritan Bay Medical Center. He will assume this position on April 1, 2026, and report directly to Patricia Carroll, FACHE, President and Chief Hospital Executive, Raritan Bay Medical Center and Old Bridge Medical Center, with a dotted line to Jose Azar, MD, Executive Vice President, Chief Quality and Network Service Line Officer.
In this role, Dr. Eagan will be responsible for clinical leadership, quality improvement, patient
safety and medical staff engagement. He will be tasked with enhancing patient outcomes and
fostering strong relationships with medical staff, hospital leadership and the local community. Dr.
Eagan will also lead the financial sustainability, operational efficiency, medical excellence and
regulatory compliance initiatives for the hospitals.
Most recently, Dr. Eagan has served as medical director of Patient Safety and Quality for Old
Bridge and Raritan Bay Medical Centers. He joined the HMH network in 2015 as the chair and
medical director of the emergency department at Raritan Bay and Old Bridge Medical Centers. In this position, he was a key part of the team working to launch Epic, co-chaired the Sepsis
Committee and provided valuable expertise on the design of the new Old Bridge Medical Center
emergency department. Prior to joining HMH, Dr. Eagan was a partner at Emergency Medical
Associates, working at Monmouth Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital,
Bayshore Medical Center and Clara Maass Medical Center. He also served as associate medical director for Clara Maass Medical Center, chairing the Quality Assurance Committee and serving as physician in charge of the Advanced Practice Clinicians.
Dr. Eagan received his Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College. He completed his transitional internship at St Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, and his emergency medicine residency at New York Medical College.
