What You Need To Know
The American College of Cardiology (ACC) recognized six Hackensack Meridian Health medical centers in 2024 with HeartCARE Center National Distinctions of Excellence for their demonstrated commitment to providing patients with a comprehensive, high-quality culture of cardiovascular care.
Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC), Bayshore Medical Center (BMC) , JFK University Medical Center (JFKU), Ocean University Medical Center (OUMC), and Riverview Medical Center (RMC), are the only New Jersey hospitals to earn this elite distinction, based on meeting extensive accreditation criteria, and through their ongoing performance registry reporting.
Hospitals and health systems earning ACC HeartCARE Center designation participate in at least two ACC Accreditation Services programs, NCDR registries, and targeted quality improvement campaigns, such as Patient Navigator Program: Focus MI; that are designed to help hospitals and institutions close gaps in guideline-based care.
In 2024;
- HUMC received the ACC’s Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation, Transcatheter Valve Certification, Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation, Heart Failure Accreditation, and NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award as well as the ACC’s and the Mitral Foundation’s Mitral Valve Reference Center recognition.
- JSUMC received the ACC’s Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation, Transcatheter Valve Certification, Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation Accreditation, Heart Failure Accreditation with Outpatient Services, and NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award.
- JFKU received the ACC’s Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation, Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation Accreditation, Heart Failure Accreditation, and NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award.
- OUMC received the ACC’s Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation, Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation, Heart Failure Accreditation, and NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award.
- RMC received the ACC’s Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation, Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI, Heart Failure Accreditation, and NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award.
- BMC received ACC Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Heart Failure Accreditations as well as the ACC NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award.
