What You Need To Know
The Phase I clinical trial program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s HOPE Tower in Neptune is now accepting physician referrals for refractory patients with solid tumors.
Who May Qualify for a Phase I Trial?
When you refer a patient to our Phase I clinical trials program, your patient will be screened for our entire portfolio of Phase I trials — including trials offered at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center.
An ideal candidate for a Phase I trial is a patient who:
- Is refractory to previous treatments or immunotherapy
- Has not yet exhausted all lines of therapy
- Has good functional status
- Has an estimated life expectancy greater than 3 months
- Meets basic eligibility criteria, such as being at least 18 years old, etc.
How to Refer Your Patients
Referring physicians can inquire about available trials or refer a patient via email by following these two steps:
- Step 1: Draft an email to Phase I staff with patient details, including:
- Patient name
- Patient diagnosis
- 1-2 sentences about current status and/or past treatment
- Step 2: Send the email to Phase I staff at phase1referrals@hmhn.org
If your patient is not eligible for participation or must stop a clinical trial — or when their clinical trial concludes — your patient will be returned to you for ongoing management.
