Old Bridge Medical Center and the New Jersey EMS Task Force will hold a Full-Scale Emergency Response Exercise on Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22.
The exercise is designed to ensure a coordinated, timely, and effective response and recovery in the event of a major disaster that would make a hospital not operational.
Beginning Friday October 21 at 8:30 a.m., numerous emergency trucks will arrive together carrying a 40 bed field hospital, medical ambulance buses and oxygen generation trucks.
On Saturday, October 22, the 40-bed field hospital will be built and emergency medical drills and exercises will begin.
There will be law enforcement and emergency services present during the exercise. The exercise will take place away from patient-facing areas. During the exercise, the public may see an increased presence of emergency response vehicles in the area that are part of the exercise.
