- Ocean Medical Center has named Mina M. Fam, M.D., MBA, medical director of the Center for Robotic Surgery.
- Dr. Fam is board certified in urology and is fellowship trained in urologic oncology.
- Dr. Fam specializes in all aspects of urologic cancer and robotic surgery offering the most advanced procedures for urologic cancers including prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers, adrenalectomy and nephrectomy, prostatectomy and urinary obstruction.
Dr. Fam practices at Ocean Medical Center and Jersey Shore University Medical Center where the urologic team offers MRI-guided biopsy of the prostate to confirm the presence of cancer in men with a rising PSA, gauge the clinical significance of malignancies, enhance active surveillance, and guide decision making.
Education & Experience
Dr. Fam received his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine and completed his internship and surgical residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDMJ). He then went on to complete his fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
He is currently a member of the American Urologic Association as well as the Society of Urologic Oncology and Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
The Center for Robotic Surgery team at Ocean Medical Center has performed more than 1,000 cases utilizing state-of-the-art computer technology to treat patients with thoracic, colorectal, gynecologic, urologic and general surgery conditions.
