Division of Organ Transplantation at Hackensack University Medical Center Welcomes Two New Transplant Physicians

What you need to know

David Serur, M.D., and Vikram Wadhera, M.D., M.B. B.S. — have joined the surgical team at Hackensack University Medical Center’s Division of Organ Transplantation.

Dr. Wadhera and Dr. Serur will join the Division of Abdominal Organ Transplant in performing and managing kidney, pancreas, and simultaneous kidney/pancreas transplantation, under the direction of Michael J. Goldstein, M.D., FACS, director of Abdominal Organ Transplant, Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation, and Pediatric Abdominal Transplantation at Hackensack University Medical Center’s Division of Organ Transplantation.

David Serur, M.D.

Dr. Serur received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his residency at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, New York, and completed his fellowship in nephrology at New York Hospital. Before accepting his position at Hackensack University Medical Center, he served as medical director at the Rogosin Institute Transplant Program in New York City.

Vikram Wadhera, M.D., M.B.B.S

After receiving his medical degree from Bangalore Medical College in India, Dr. Wadhera completed his residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, New York, and Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, New York. Dr. Wadhera completed his fellowship in transplant surgery at the Recanati-Miller Transplant Institute at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Before accepting his position at Hackensack University Medical Center, he served as an assistant professor of surgery at the Recanati-Miller Transplant Institute.

As one of only a few certified transplant centers in New Jersey, Hackensack University Medical Center’s Division of Organ Transplantation provides complete pre-transplant evaluation, surgical services, and post-operative care. Along with its board-certified physicians, a team of transplant nurses and other professionals provide care and support for transplant patients and their families throughout the organ transplantation process.
