What you need to know
Hackensack University Medical Center is the first hospital in New Jersey to implement the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered personalized performance management platform, C-SATS (Crowd-Sourced Assessment of Technical Skills).
C-SATS enables Hackensack's surgical robotics team to securely track performance and continuously enhance their skills, leading to improved patient outcomes.
C-SATS at Hackensack
Utilizing the C-SATS platform, approved procedures performed at Hackensack are captured by an intraoperative video recording and then securely transmitted for anonymous and confidential evaluation by expert surgeons and trained reviewers who provide objective feedback on technical skills and technique. This combination of human insights supplemented by AI and machine learning provides both qualitative and quantitative feedback to each physician through a personalized dashboard.
The C-SATS program, which started as a six-month pilot in August 2018, has now moved into full implementation across all specialties at Hackensack.
