Jersey Shore Adds New Prostate Cancer Technology

Published:
August 16, 2019

What you need to know

Jersey Shore recently added UroNav Fusion Biopsy, a technology that aims to improve the diagnosis of prostate cancers so more forms of prostate cancers are found and treated.

The UroNav system enables dual images during prostate biopsy procedures to assist surgeons with biopsy precision. It uses an MR image taken before the biopsy procedure and aligns it with a real time ultrasound of the prostate.

Is your patient a candidate for a UroNav Procedure?

  • Men who have been deemed at risk due to results from prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test.
  • Men who have been deemed at risk due to findings from a digital rectal exam.
  • Men who have already been diagnosed with prostate cancer and are seeking an active treatment course.
  • Men who have already had a prostate biopsy but continue to suffer from prostate cancer symptoms.
  • Men who are currently monitoring prostate cancer with active surveillance.
