Four Hospitals Earn Sepsis Recognition

The following four network hospitals achieved the Gold Seal from the Joint Commission (TJC) for their Sepsis programs:

  • Raritan Bay Perth Amboy and Old Bridge Medical Centers
  • JFK Medical Center
  • Bayshore Medical Center
  • Southern Ocean Medical Center

Hackensack Meridian Health has adopted a system-wide approach to the management of sepsis. 

The HMH Sepsis Committee is led by Robert Bayly, M.D. and facilitated by Lisa Failace, RN. Regulatory Affairs Vice President Renee Harvey and Manager Inia Estima developed a system approach to pursue The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Distinction for all of Hackensack Meridian Health’s hospitals sepsis programs.

Hackensack, Palisades and Pascack Valley achieved Sepsis certification in November 2018. Ocean, Riverview and Jersey Shore University Medical Centers are on track to be scheduled in June 2019. Mountainside attained their Sepsis certification in 2016.
