What you need to know

The Vascular Program at Ocean is among the first in Ocean County to offer Trans-cervical Carotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR), helping dramatically reduce the risk of stroke in patients with blocked arteries.

Fellowship-trained vascular surgeon, Vikalp Jain, M.D., RPVI of Jersey Coast Vascular Institute at Ocean Medical Center is among one of the first surgeons in the country to gain expertise with the TCAR procedure. He has been performing the procedure for more than four years.

Ocean joins Jersey Shore and Hackensack as one of three hospitals in the Hackensack Meridian Health network to offer this minimally invasive procedure, and the only hospital with three certified physicians.
