What You Need to Know
Hospitals across the Hackensack Meridian Health network are now offering Pluvicto, a new, life-changing targeted treatment option for patients with prostate-specific membrane antigen-positive (PSMA+) metastatic prostate cancer who have exhausted all other lines of treatment.
Pluvicto is clinically proven to extend survival for patients with PSMA+ metastatic prostate cancer who have experienced disease progression despite treatment with androgen receptor pathway inhibitors and chemotherapy. Pluvicto is the first and only FDA-approved PSMA-targeted radioligand therapy (RLT).
How Pluvicto Works
Pluvicto is a targeted therapy that works by binding to and destroying PSMA+ cancer cells throughout the body — including bone, nodal and visceral metastases — and is associated with fewer side effects when compared to chemotherapy treatment. The drug is delivered via injection every six weeks for up to six treatments during a 10-minute outpatient radiology procedure.
