
What You Need To Know
Jersey Shore University Medical Center is the only hospital in New Jersey participating in a new clinical trial of a personalized “vaccine” for glioblastoma (GBM). This trial is studying a type of personalized immunotherapy made from tumor cells taken from the patient’s resected tumor.
The purpose of the three-year study, called the 14379-201 GBM study, is to determine if the investigational treatment extends survival and improves quality of life for patients with GBM. Patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the investigational therapy or placebo.
Who Qualifies for the Clinical Trial
The clinical trial is open to patients who:- Are between the ages of 18 and 70 years old;
- Have been newly diagnosed with presumed, resectable GBM; and
- Have not yet received any other treatments or had surgery for GBM.
