What You Need To Know

  • This investigation seeks to find new, non-invasive methods for diagnosing Periodic Fever, Aphthous Stomatitis, Pharyngitis and Adenitis (PFAPA). With these studies, we hope to lay the groundwork for improving diagnosis and treatment of this disorder.
  • We are seeking male and female participants under 22 years of age who are diagnosed with PFAPA or suffer from recurrent fevers, oral ulcers or sore throat and who are willing to participate in two to three research visits during their fever and non-fever episodes. We will review their medical history, conduct a physical examination and collect a non-invasive saliva sample and blood.
  • Qualified patients who complete the study requirements will be compensated for their participation.
