The American College of Cardiology (ACC) recognized five Hackensack Meridian Health medical centers in the final months of 2022 for their teams’ demonstrated commitment to developing a comprehensive, high-quality culture for cardiovascular care.
Hackensack University Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, JFK University Medical Center, Ocean University Medical Center and Riverview Medical Center achieved the ACC’s HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence based on meeting extensive accreditation criteria, and through their ongoing performance registry reporting.
Hospitals and health systems that earn a HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence designation have met rigorous criteria, including participating in at least two ACC Accreditation Services programs, NCDR registries and targeted quality improvement campaigns, such as Patient Navigator Program: Focus MI (heart attack). The programs are designed to help hospitals and institutions close gaps in guideline-based care.
