Lucy Pereira-Argenziano, MD, has been named senior vice president, clinical operations and chief medical officer, ambulatory services. Dr. Pereira-Argenziano will report directly to Mark Sparta, FACHE, Chief Operating Officer and Daniel Varga, MD, Chief Physician Executive. She will work as a dyad with Mike Geiger, SVP, Ambulatory Care.
In this role, Dr. Pereira-Argenziano will provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for clinical operations, patient safety and quality across all HMH ambulatory services including health and wellness centers, diagnostic and therapeutic sites and joint venture or partner-operated facilities. She will work collaboratively with Dr. Amy Frieman and the Physician Services Division team to coordinate strategy, clinical care delivery models and operational excellence across all HMH Medical Group sites of care. Dr. Pereira-Argenziano will continue to provide executive oversight of patient safety and quality at Mountainside Medical Center and Pascack Valley Medical Center.
Since joining the network in 2020, Dr. Pereira-Argenziano has collaborated with physician, nursing and operational leaders to achieve measurable improvements in patient outcomes including reductions in hospital acquired infections and readmissions across the northern region. She has also spearheaded the continued integration of Mountainside and Pascack Valley hospitals into our quality and safety programs, established a quality and safety infrastructure for ambulatory services and helped implement a comprehensive on-boarding program for clinical services at Metropark.
Dr. Pereira-Argenziano earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn. She completed her pediatrics residency and neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at Schneider Children's Hospital. Dr. Pereira-Argenziano also completed her Clinical Quality Fellowship with the Greater New York Hospital Association and I2S2 Quality Training at the James Anderson Center for Health System Excellence.
