Hackensack Meridian Health is proud to announce that following an extensive national search, Jason Korcak, MD, MPH, has been appointed as the new Chair of the Department of Medicine for Hackensack University Medical Center and the North Region of Hackensack Meridian Health.
Dr. Korcak’s proven track record in quality, clinical operations, and education distinguished him among a highly competitive field of candidates. A trusted leader within our institution, he has served as Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine since 2017 and as Interim Chair since 2023.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Korcak has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to patient care and has been instrumental in developing new programs, championing quality improvement, and recruiting national leaders in medicine to our team.
He is a respected physician and a thoughtful leader who is dedicated to HMH’s mission of being a leader of positive change.
As the Chair of Medicine, Dr. Korcak will lead 14 academic divisions, including 230 employed faculty members, 70 residents and fellows, and over 600 credentialed physicians and advanced practice providers. Dr. Korcak will champion interdisciplinary collaboration across the department and region to drive innovation and achieve superior health outcomes for our patients.
