Dr Lauren Koniaris Included in Beckers Hospital Review

Dr. Lauren Koniaris, Vice President and Chief Medical Information Officer, was included in Becker's Hospital Review's "56 Hospitals and Health System CMIOs and CNIOs To Know".

• Dr. Koniaris is a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician. She has been vice president and CMIO of Hackensack Meridian Health since 2018, bridging the gap between IT and clinical teams. Her efforts focus on making sure clinical workflows and processes lead to safe and effective patient care while EHRs are implemented at hospitals across the system. Under her leadership, the health system aims to leverage the EHR to positively affect care delivery.

In addition to Dr. Koniaris's inclusion, Hackensack Meridian Health was also featured in Becker's "70 hospitals and health systems with spine and neuroscience programs to know".

• Hackensack Meridian Health's neurosurgery team performs over 5,000 brain and spine surgeries annually. HMH offers the latest in technology, as evidenced by the Dr. Robert H. and Mary Ellen Harris ZAP-X Center for Noninvasive Neurosurgery at the Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute serving as the world's first team to combine ZAP-X gyroscopic radiosurgery with Synaptive's brain-only silent MRI. A new $710 million surgical pavilion at the system's flagship, Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center, was first in the nation to receive Disease Specific Certification for Parkinson’s disease. It is also participating in multiple clinical trials in vascular neurosurgery, oncologic neurosurgery and spine.
