David S. Kountz, M.D., MBA, MACP, has been named the 2023 Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers’ (AIAMC) Ethel Weinberg Award winner. He will be recognized with this esteemed honor at the AIAMC awards dinner in Nashville March 24. Dr. Kountz is VP, Academic Affairs at JSUMC, co-chief Academic Officer/HMH, Hackensack Meridian Health School of Medicine, Professor of Medicine; Sr. associate dean, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. He has served multiple national organizations including Member, Institutional Review Committee, ACGME; Member‐At‐Large, National Board of Medical Examiners; former Chair of the Group on Resident Affairs, AAMC; and prior member (2019) of the Diversity Task Force, ACGME. He also served as Co‐Chair of the National Minority Cardiovascular Alliance and is Past President of the International Society on Hypertension in Blacks.
