New colorectal surgeons at SOMC specialize in robotic colorectal surgery

Southern Ocean Medical Center welcomes new colorectal surgeons Michael Patrick Del Rosario, M.D., FACS, FASCRS, and Michael L. Caparelli, M.D., M.S. Both are the only colorectal surgeons in South Jersey to specialize in performing robotic colorectal surgery procedures using the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, providing patients with the same level of advanced, cutting-edge care previously available only in larger metropolitan areas like New York and Philadelphia.

• Dr. Del Rosario is one of our region’s most experienced laparoscopic and robotic-assisted colorectal surgeons and was the first surgeon in the area to perform minimally invasive colon resection.
• Dr. Caparelli has authored more than 35 publications, posters and presentations, and is involved in ongoing colorectal cancer research.
