Dr. Edward Fein is one of the most Collaborative physicians at Hackensack Meridian Health and he has a We “C” You Award to prove it! According to his nomination, it was difficult to pick only one “C” for Dr. Fein because he is the epitome of all the Cs – Collaborative, Compassionate, Connected, Creative and Courageous.
He has more than 30 years of health care experience and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology and Critical Care. He treats patients in his Monroe office for COPD, asthma, lung cancer and long term COVID symptoms such as shortness of breath and coughing.
Dr. Fein joined our network four years ago as the medical director for the Hackensack Meridian Health Partners. Today, he is the senior medical director of Informatics for the Physician Enterprise.
The award relates to Dr. Fein’s major contributions to improve the daily work of our physicians through improvements in Epic. He understands data management and analysis. Coupled with his deep understanding of Epic flow, Dr. Fein has been able to anticipate needs and work with our digital partners to improve the EMR system. Dr. Fein’s expertise was particularly helpful during the ambulatory Epic rollout.
Some of his current projects include:
- Braven Health – Helping physicians to get their patients in for BRAVEN well visits. By creating lists of patients who didn’t have well visits, the practice managers were able to identify, call and schedule appointments, whether they be in person or remote.
- Patient Access Center (PAC) – Bridging practice office knowledge to the PAC central location creating a patient experience that feels personalized and efficient. PAC, which launched last year, leverages all modern technologies and capabilities making access to our health care network easier for patients and clinicians.
- Sexual Orientation and Gender Identification (SOGI) – Developing a system within Epic to collect SOGI data from patients. This information will allow us to better care for specific health care needs and address health disparities.
