Yukiko Kimura, M.D., chief of the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital and professor of Pediatrics at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall, recently served as corresponding author of a new article titled Toward Accelerated Authorization and Access to New Medicines for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
In efforts to explore options for expanding access to JIA treatments, Dr. Kimura joined the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) in a meeting between pharmaceutical company officials, fellow pediatric rheumatology clinicians, patient representatives, the FDA, the European Medicines Agency and the Arthritis Foundation.
