
Physicians from Palisades Medical Center and Mountainside Medical Center won top prizes at the 2019 New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians (NJAFP) Poster contest.
There were 27 final entiries in the 2019 NJAFP Poster Contest that showcased the breadth of issues tackled by family physicians.
The People’s Choice and first place Resident awardees both showcased tough cases, catching the attention of online voters and the judges on site at the NJAFP 2019 FamMed Forum, NJAFP’s largest annual meeting.
Here is a list of our winners:
- Tayyab Malik, M.D., MBA; Iyad Baker, M.D.; Husam Ali, M.D., Palisades Medical Center won the People’s Choice Award for the poster titled "Chronic COPD with acute exacerbation and incidental hyponatremia" .
- Sooraj Poonawala, D.O.; Adam Atoot, M.D.; David Dahill D.O., Palisades Medical Center received 1st place in the residents’ category for the poster titled “Actinomyces Masquerading as Appendicitis”.
- Imren Ozturk, M.D.; Sneha Sreekumar, M.D.; Daniel Cruz, PhD; George Miller, M.D., Mountainside Medical Center was awarded 2nd place in the resident’s category for the poster titled “Assessment of low bone mineral density and fracture burden at the primary health care office”.
