
Southern Ocean Medical Center recently held the final session of their mini medical school.
Evan Naylor, M.D. , internal medicine and hematology physician at Southern Ocean was the keynote speaker at this event and introduced the students to life in the medical field.
Dr. Naylor presented on the mysteries of medical oncology, shared his path to medical school and how he chose his specialty. The final session was was very informative and educational for all attendees as he reviewed actual examples of how he diagnosed patients in his practice and demonstrated a day in the life of an oncologist.
The students helped diagnose patients by suggesting different tests and asking questions about results from tests. Dr. Naylor also discussed the importance of healthy eating and how certain foods can increase the risk of cancer as well as the foods that can help decrease cancer risk.
Students who completed the program were presented with certificates.
