Amanda's Easel
- This is a free program for youth, 4-14 years old, to heal from the effects of DV. The non-offending parent can join them.
Shore Regional Outreach Program
- This program offers culturally sensitive counseling to Caucasian, Latinx, and Men and Women of Color who have, or have known someone who has experienced DV or SV.
Family Justice Center
- Located in the lower level of the Superior Court of Monmouth County in Freehold, survivors can access coordinated services. Survivors of DV, SV, child abuse, and HT can benefit from resources such as crisis support, immigration assistance, legal assistance, case management, and counseling services. Other Monmouth County organizations are also accessible through existing partnerships.
Emergency Safe House
- Housing is provided in a confidential, secure location for those survivors and families fleeing from violence. Individuals can stay for 30-60 days, and are provided with food, toiletries, clothing, counseling, case management, assistance in finding housing, finding employment, life skills, restraining orders (as needed), and youth therapy program. The house is handicap accessible and pet friendly. The services are available regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
2nd Floor Youth Helpline
- This hotline is available and targeted at a 10-24 year old audience. The hotline is available state-wide, and is a confidential prevention line. It can help young individuals connect with resources.
Family Court Liaison Program
- Staff offers information regarding legal rights and options re: domestic violence, victim advocacy, and obtaining/dismissing a restraining/protective order. They can also accompany survivors through court procedures.
Counseling
- Individual and group counseling sessions are offered, as are financial empowerment workshops.

Dream Free (Human Trafficking)
- Dream free provides crisis response and counseling, system advocacy, and community outreach. Services are available for youth survivors of HT, who are 21 and under. They educate youth about healthy relationships and HT recruitment methodologies while emphasizing resiliency and reducing risk of trafficking.
VIP (DV and SV Programs)
- Confidential and free services to survivors of DV, SV and their families include an emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, crisis advocates, and an emergency cell phone program [cell phones are re-programmed to call 911 and/or their 24-hour hotline at no cost to those in physical danger].
Pals (Pediatrics, 3-17 y/o)
- "Peace: A Learned Solution": Similar programs are offered throughout the state. This offers therapy via arts and music to children and their non-offending parent. This program caters to children of DV, with or without behavioral symptoms.
Fatherhood Services
- This program provides individual and group support to help dads end abuse. The program is 26 sessions and covers conflict resolution skills, helps fathers re-connect with children, connects dads to community supports, and improves communication with co-parents. Call: 609-569-4501 to get engaged.
Displaced Homemaker Program & Self Sufficiency Services

- The 24 hour hotline is toll free and provides support to survivors and their family/friends.
Counseling
- Short-term, one on one counseling is available for survivors 13 and up, as well as their significant others who have concerns related to the SV. 12 sessions of counseling are provided.
Support Groups
- Support groups include those for males and adult survivors of assault which took place in childhood or as an adult.
Arts & Wellness
- Coping methods are taught to trauma survivors via groups and wellness workshops. Along the healing pathway, survivors connect with others with shared experiences and express themselves creatively.

Program Name:
Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate (CSVA)
- HealingSPACE is part of Bergen's SART team. A CSVA is a free service, available 24/7 and is part of a coordinated response team to support a survivor of SA within 5 days of the event. A CSVA offers emotional support, referrals, and information to survivors; they are confidential (as long as the safety of the survivor or another is not in jeopardy). Other members of the SART team include law enforcement and a forensic nurse examiner (FNE). They are available via the 24/7 hotline number.
Virtual Gatherings & Workshop
- Workshops include art, breath/meditation, movement/dance, yoga, and a virtual coffee house.
Medical/Legal Accompaniment
- An advocate can accompany a survivor to the hospital or police station, and any legal proceedings related to the assault. They are available 24/7, via the hotline number.
Counseling
- Counseling via Healing Space is available in both individual and group settings. Examples of group counseling includes virtual peer support groups, a women's group,a men's group, a loved ones' group, a LGBTQIA+ group, a trans group, a young adult female group, and a dialectical behavior therapy skills.

- Hudson Speaks is involved in the Hudson County SART. Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates through Hudson SPEAKS can provide 24/7 accompaniments to hospitals, courts and law enforcement agencies. Available to those who have experienced a SA within the last 5 days.
Counseling & Wellness
- Counseling helps SA survivors process trauma and long term impacts can be minimized/prevented using structures interventions and support.
Support Group ("Voices of Strength")
- This is a free, confidential support group for survivors
CSVA
- This person can be part of the sexual assault crisis response. They can also listen, support, and connect survivors to resources. They can also accompany a survivor to medical or legal proceedings.
Prevention & Outreach
- Hudson SPEAKS provides free, confidential support groups, which run for up to 10 weeks. Participants gain safety knowledge, coping skills, and characteristics of healthy relationships.
Case Management & Advocacy
- Case managers assess an individual's needs and situation and can connect them to services like health insurance, housing, and public assistance. Case workers can also attend legal interviews and medical appointments with the survivor.
Sunshine Project
- This program helps survivors and their loved ones get access to mental healthcare and support. It is available for those 13 years and up.
Culturally Specific Initiative
- Hudson SPEAKS has South Asian and Hispanic initiatives for cultural sensitivity. Outreach and direct services are available.

- Advocates who understand South Asian cultural and linguistic barriers provide counseling to survivors.
Transitional Housing
- "Ashiana" is a safe/transitional house for women and children who are fleeing a DV situation. They are provided supportive services and support to gain social and financial independence.
Support Groups
- In-person support groups are a safe place to share experiences. The groups are facilitated by trained advocates who can provide emotional support and resources/referrals.
SA Support Services
- Advocates provide information, emotional support, advocacy, and referrals to survivors, regardless of the time passed since the incident.
Legal Advocacy
- There is a full-time counsel to provide legal services and representation in family courts. There are also legal clinics for a free legal consultation related to immigration related issues. ADvocates can also be present at court proceedings to offer language services, support, and resources.
Economic Empowerment
- In order for survivors to achieve independence, they need empowerment and financial literacy, as well as education, job skills, and long-term housing. The Economic Empowerment Program tailors services to meet each individual's needs.

Passaic County Domestic and Sexual Violence Center (PCDSVC) Shelter
- The shelter can accommodate up to 28 women and children daily. Shelter clients can receive help from case management, a family-child advocate, a housing specialist, and a residential assistant. Individuals can stay in the shelter for up to 60 days.
Passaic County Transitional Housing
- This is a 7-unit building that can serve up to 16 individuals that have been impacted by DV, SA, dating violence, or stalking at one time. Individuals can stay for 6-24 months. This is meant to be a more independent place to live, following a stay in the Safe House, and where safety is no longer the primary concern. The transitional house is for Females and children only. Male survivors are placed off-site.
Passaic County PALS Program
- This program targets youth ages 3-12 that have been exposed to domestic violence either as victims or witnesses. The program is 6 months long and uses creative arts to support children through the healing process.
SA Support Services
- Advocates provide information, emotional support, advocacy, and referrals to survivors, regardless of the time passed since the incident.
Legal Advocacy
- Through this program, survivors can receive information on restraining and protective orders. Survivors can also get support through the cort process and learn about thier rights.
24 Hour Hotline

Services for Older Victims of Domestic Abuse

Children's Counseling

Economic Empowerment:
- Offers career counseling, job development, and housing counseling services.
- Career counseling services include English as a Second Language, High School Equivalency test, referrals to community-based vocational/occupational training and accreditation services, resume writing, computer skills, and interview techniques. Job development includes assistance with the job search, and acquisition and retention of employment. Housing counseling services include identification, acquisiton, and continuation of affordable permanent housing; budgeting and credit counseling; temporary assistance with utility/rent payments; and establishing relationships with realtors and landlords.
Project CHILD:
- Inspires Confidence, Hope, Independence, Love, and Direction for children ages 4-12 who are victims and/or witnesses of domestic violence. This program addresses pediatric challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger, aggressive tendencies, and poor self-image. The program provides weekly individual and group therapeutic treatment by utilizing creative arts therapy, as well as case management and therapeutic support for the child’s non-abusive parent.
Domestic Violence Liaison Program:
- The Center for Hope and Safety provides expert consultations to the NJ Division of Child Protection & Permanency ("DCP&P") staff on managing domestic violence cases. Liaisons can provide direct and confidential services to DCPP clients, including information on DV, resources, safety planning, and advocacy for clients within DCPP and other community systems, as needed.
Legal Services:
- The Center for Hope and Safety offers free, in-house legal services for victims of DV. Services include Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs), Final Restraining Orders (FROs) and appeals, custody, visitation, child support matters, spousal support, immigration, divorce and other related family law matters. - The shelter can accommodate up to 28 women and children daily. Shelter clients can receive help from case management, a family-child advocate, a housing specialist, and a residential assistant. Individuals can stay in the shelter for up to 60 days.
Passaic County Transitional Housing
- This is a 7-unit building that can serve up to 16 individuals that have been impacted by DV, SA, dating violence, or stalking at one time. Individuals can stay for 6-24 months.
