Palisades Medical Center

Located on the Hudson River waterfront in North Bergen, Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center has continually grown and evolved to meet the changing health care needs of its community since 1978.

Today, Palisades Medical Center serves a population of more than 450,000 in Hudson and southern Bergen counties. The not-for-profit medical center is a part of Hackensack Meridian Health, and it features a 206-bed hospital and The Harborage, a 247-bed nursing home and rehabilitation center. Palisades Medical Center also features a Graduate Medical Education Program with more than 100 residents that specialize in podiatry, dermatology, family medicine, internal medicine, general surgery, OB/GYN, gastroenterology and traditional rotating internships.

Palisades Medical Center is ranked as one of the top hospitals of its size in New Jersey by Inside Jersey magazine and Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. The New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) has honored Palisades Medical Center with its prestigious Community Outreach Award for its year-round commitment to educate residents, improve access to care, and reduce health disparities. Palisades Medical Center is also the largest employer in its service area and it has been recognized as one of Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare.”

Palisades Medical Center’s latest expansions and renovations include a new on-campus 57,000-square-foot Medical Office Building that expands Palisades Medical Center’s capabilities and provides patients with convenient access to new, specialty care services. The Medical Office Building features Hackensack University Medical Center’s John Theurer Cancer Center, Palisades Women’s Group, a sleep-wake center, a dialysis center, a bariatric program. New serves to be added in the near future include a comprehensive breast center, an orthopedic surgery program, an infusion center, cardiology services and other surgical specialties.

Palisades Medical Center features newly-renovated patient units designed to optimize comfort, safety and care of patients and features all-new furnishings with nursing stations that have been redesigned and updated to strengthen patient monitoring; and a new pediatric unit that is now the first choice or practitioners and patients, and features beautiful and comfortable rooms as well as expanded amenities.
