What You Need To Know
Epic Downtime - Sunday, November 2
WHAT'S HAPPENING: Epic will undergo a system downtime for quarterly updates to increase efficiency, improve care delivery and meet new regulatory requirements.
WHEN: Sunday, November 2, from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m.
THINGS TO KNOW:
Epic Hyperspace Read Only will be available.
- You can view existing information (census, results, medication records).
- You cannot enter new information until the downtime is over.
- Scheduled reports from Epic and Epic data on Enterprise Analytics & Insight will be delayed.
Customizations will be temporarily unavailable beginning Tuesday, October 28, at 9 p.m. until the updates are complete on Sunday, November 2, at 3 a.m. These include:
- Creating or editing filters in Chart Review
- Applying filters in work lists
- Customizing advanced settings for Charge Router Reconciliation and Routed Charges reports
- Creating or editing SmartPhrases and SmartLinks
- Personalizing dashboards
- Creating, Editing and Sharing NoteWriter Macros
- Creating or editing QuickActions
- Adding users to In Basket pools
IMPORTANT: Please review your department's downtime procedures.
ONCE THE UPDATES ARE COMPLETE:
- Team members can preview changes in the Epic Playground.
- “What's New” in-system notifications will display within each Epic user’s workspace, tailored to their usage of Epic.
- Educational materials will become available on the Epic Learning Home Dashboard.
