Epic Action Alert: Pronouncement of Death Order for Deceased Patients
WHAT: Beginning Monday, June 24, it will no longer be possible to use a Discharge Patient order with the disposition of expired/deceased. Providers will be prompted to instead place a Pronouncement of Death order.
This order will initiate the Decedent Affairs workflow. This navigator is multidisciplinary and contains sections for providers, nurses, patient movement tracking, morgue, and laboratory.
