Orders for CT with contrast exams and the contrast order are bundled together in facility-specific preference lists. This is for inpatients and ED patients. Beginning Tuesday, February 7, 2023, providers who have been ordering these exams separately from a personal preference list will no longer have that option.
When the CT order is placed without the contrast order, there is a delay in patient care because the CT tech has to call and request that the provider enter the contrast order before the exam can be completed.
