This pertains to Jersey Shore, Ocean and Southern Ocean Medical Centers.
Providers using the Sepsis Order Protocol, should not place stand alone Lactic Acid lab orders. The order within the order set is for a Repeat x1 if lactic acid is >2mmol/L. After 3 hours, a new order is automatically placed to monitor the patient’s lactic acid level.
