Please find attached the NJDOH vector-borne surveillance report for week 21.
Report highlights:
- Nine additional mosquito pools tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV) since last week’s report from Hudson, Ocean, and Atlantic counties. Twelve mosquitos have tested positive to date in 2025 from eight counties.
- There have been no human or animal cases of WNV in 2026. There have been no human, animal, or mosquito detections of Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) or Jamestown Canyon virus (JCV) in 2026.
- The number of Lyme disease cases decreased and is slightly below the 4-year average.
- Tick-related ED visits decreased and are below the 5-year average.
