Please find below the NJDOH vector-borne surveillance report for week 21.
Report Highlights:
- One additional mosquito pool tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV) in week 21 from Bergen County. Six mosquito pools have tested positive to date in 2025 in Bergen, Gloucester, and Warren counties.
- There have been no human or animal cases of WNV and no human, animal, or mosquito detections of Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) or Jamestown Canyon virus (JCV) in 2025.
- The number of travel-associated dengue cases reported to date in 2025 is lower than in 2024.
- The number of Lyme disease cases is consistent with seasonal trends.
- The number of tick-related emergency department visits decreased from the previous week but remains higher than last year and the 5-year average. The highest number of visits was in the central east region.
