What You Need To Know
Below please find the new Respiratory Illness Surveillance Report. This report summarizes surveillance information for COVID-19, influenza, RSV, and other respiratory illnesses. The weekly report will replace both the COVID-19 and Respiratory Illness Surveillance Report and the Influenza Surveillance Report.
Report Highlights:
- COVID-19 activity in New Jersey is low and there have been declines in emergency department visits and percent positivity in recent weeks.
- COVID-19 variants predominantly in circulation (KP.3.1.1 and LB.1) are closely related to fall vaccine formulations.
- Influenza activity level is low statewide and emergency department visits associated with influenza are higher than last week.
- Among the current circulating influenza viruses, the most frequently reported subtype is influenza A(H1N1).
- RSV percent positivity & percentage of emergency department visits with a diagnosis of RSV are low and stable.
- Percent of positive tests for other respiratory viruses circulating (other than COVID-19, influenza and RSV) are low except for Rhinovirus and Enterovirus which are at seasonal highs.
