Below please find the COVID-19 and Respiratory Illness Activity Report. This report summarizes surveillance information for COVID-19, RSV, and other non-influenza viral respiratory illnesses.
Report Highlights:
- For the week ending September 28, 2024, the weekly average percentage of inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients in NJ was 2.0% (CDC COVID Data Tracker).
- The weekly average percentage of ICU beds occupied by COVID-19 patients was 1.4% (CDC COVID Data Tracker).
- In the four weeks leading up to September 28th, KP.3.1.1 accounted for 35.9% of sequenced variants. LB.1 and KP.2.3 accounted for 16.0% and 15.1% of sequenced variants, respectively.
- RSV percent positivity & percentage of emergency department visits with a diagnosis of RSV are low and stable.
- For the week ending September 28, 2024, one COVID-19 outbreak and one non-flu viral respiratory disease outbreak were reported into the SIC module by K-12 schools.
