Epic has updated its Mpox travel alert to include additional countries:
Rules for Mpox
Travel Advisory rule Mpox - Travel with Symptoms is satisfied if all of the following are true:
The patient reports at least one of the following symptoms:
- Chills
- Fatigue
- Fever
- Muscle pain
- Rash
- Severe headache
The patient reports travel to at least one of the following regions in the past 30 days:
- Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Burundi
- Central African Republic
- Niranjana Kesavamoorthy, MD
- Republic of the Congo
- Rwanda
- Uganda
- Zambia
- Angola
- Tanzania
- South Sudan
When the rule is satisfied, an OurPractice Advisory appears. The OurPractice Advisory suggests that the user initiate isolation precautions, including eye protection for staff. The OurPractice Advisory also provides links to the Mpox clinical guidelines sections of the CDC and WHO websites.
