Below please find the COVID-19 and Respiratory Illness Activity Report. This report summarizes surveillance information for COVID-19, RSV, and other non-influenza viral respiratory illnesses.
Report Highlights:
- For the week ending June 29, 2024, the weekly average percentage of inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients in NJ was 1.2% (CDC COVID Data Tracker).
- The weekly average percentage of ICU beds occupied by COVID-19 patients was 0.6% (CDC COVID Data Tracker).
- In the four weeks leading up to June 29th, LB.1 accounted for 28.9% of sequenced variants. KP.2 and KP.3 accounted for 23.1% and 17.3% of sequenced variants, respectively.
- RSV percent positivity & percentage of emergency department visits with a diagnosis of RSV are low and stable.
- As of the end of the school year, the percent of schools reporting non-flu respiratory outbreaks remained at 0.00%. K-12 schools’ data will remain the same until reporting resumes in Fall 2024.
