Below please find the COVID-19 and Respiratory Illness Activity Report. This report summarizes surveillance information for COVID-19, RSV, and other non-influenza viral respiratory illnesses.
Report Highlights:
- For the week ending June 1, 2024, the weekly average percentage of inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients in NJ was 0.8% (CDC COVID Data Tracker).
- The weekly average percentage of ICU beds occupied by COVID-19 patients was 0.5% (CDC COVID Data Tracker).
- In the four weeks leading up to June 1st, JN.1 accounted for 30.5% of sequenced variants. KP.1.1 and KP.2 accounted for 18.6% and 17.0% of sequenced variants, respectively.
- RSV percent positivity & percentage of emergency department visits with a diagnosis of RSV are low and stable.
- For the week ending June 1, 2024, zero COVID-19 and non-flu viral respiratory disease outbreaks were reported into the SIC module by K-12 schools.
