Please find b the NJDOH Influenza Surveillance Report for the week ending April 27, 2024 (MMWR week 17).

Report Highlights:

  • Influenza activity level is at low statewide.
  • Emergency Department visits associated with influenza-like illness are higher than last week and higher than this week last year.
  • Outpatient provider visits associated with influenza-like illness are also lower than last week and higher than this week last year.
  • There have been two confirmed influenza-associated pediatric deaths reported this season.
  • Of the 192 influenza outbreaks reported this season, 5 were in the last three weeks.
  • Positive results continue to be reported; influenza A (subtyping not performed) is at 55.02%, followed by B (24.57%), A (H1N1)pdm09 (14.30%), and A(H3N2) (6.11%).
  • Among current circulating influenza viruses, the most frequently reported is Influenza B.
