Please find below the NJDOH Influenza Surveillance Report for the week ending March 30, 2024 (MMWR week 13).
Report Highlights:
- Influenza activity level is at high statewide.
- Emergency Department visits associated with influenza-like illness are lower than last week and higher than this week last year.
- Outpatient provider visits associated with influenza-like illness are also lower than last week and higher than this week last year.
- There have been two confirmed influenza-associated pediatric deaths reported this season.
- Of the 173 influenza outbreaks reported this season, 8 were in the last three weeks.
- Positive results continue to be reported; influenza A (subtyping not performed) is at 55.83%, followed by B (23.27%), A (H1N1)pdm09 (14.93%), and A(H3N2) (5.96%).
- Among current circulating influenza viruses, the most frequently reported is Influenza B.
