Potential Hepatitis A Exposure Food Handler in Monmouth County

What You Need To Know

  • The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) is issuing this advisory to notify healthcare providers and public health departments about a recent report of hepatitis A in a food handler at Cardinal Provisions located at 513 Bangs Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ 07712.
Cardinal Provisions is working with the Monmouth County Health Department to minimize the risk of new illnesses within the community; inspections at the establishment revealed no food safety violations. This investigation has identified potential exposure to hepatitis A for patrons who dined at, or consumed food catered by Cardinal Provisions on the following dates: September 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, and 21. NJDOH encourages all unvaccinated individuals who consumed food or beverages at Cardinal Provisions on the dates mentioned to get a hepatitis A vaccination as soon as possible, and no later than two weeks from their last visit to the restaurant.
