The prone team at Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC) came from departments all over the hospital and spent months in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at JSUMC helping manually prone the sickest COVID-19 patients. The MICU team have affectionately named the proning team "The Rolling Prones".
Providing Support to the Community and Team Members: Licensed Clinical Social Worker Dena Mlodgenski is a Behavioral Health Consultant working at Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s Jane H. Booker Family Health Center in Neptune, where she leads the Integrated Behavioral Health grant. Dena has provided over 300 mental health support contacts either face-to-face or by telephone to help patients cope with stressful situations they are encountering during the pandemic. She has also been assisting with calls on the team member support line that is available for all Hackensack Meridian team members.
More than 1,000 pounds of supplies were donated by residents of the community because of a two-week fundraiser sponsored by the Brick Township Recreative Department. Ocean Medical Center Chief Hospital Executive Jason Kreitner, Mayor John G. Ducey, Councilman Vincent Minichino, the Director of the Recreation Department Dan Santaniello, and several team members graciously accepted 19 large bins, representing the medical center’s 19 nursing units, that were filled with hand sanitizer, scrub caps, wrapped snacks, note pads, and more.
