Sara McGee, MD
Sara McGee, MD is an oncology specialist in Red Bank, NJ. Dr. McGee completed a residency at Saint Francis Medical Center. She is also board certified in Hematology. Dr. McGee currently practices at Hackensack Meridian Medical Group – Specialty and is affiliated with Riverview Medical Center. Dr. McGee is board certified in Hematology.

Glen I. Komatsu, M.D.
Glen I. Komatsu, M.D earned a BS in biological sciences at the University of Arizona and his MD at the Arizona College of Medicine. After completing a pediatric residence at UC Irvine Affiliated Hospitals and a neonatology fellowship at Long Beach Memorial/Miller Children’s Hospital, he entered private practice. He served as medical director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, Torrance from 1985-2004, as well as director of bioethics for Providence Health & Services in the South Bay. In 2004, Dr. Komatsu pursued an additional specialty by taking an adult palliative care fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School. Returning to California in 2005, he now serves as Chief Medical Officer for Providence TrinityCare Hospice and Regional Palliative Care Southern California, Medical Director for TrinityKids pediatric hospice, director of the Edmond R. and Virginia G. Doak Center for Palliative Care at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, Torrance, Medical Director of Palliative Care, Children’s Hospital of Orange County and Senior Advisor for Strategy and Education to Providence Institute for Human Caring.

Description

This educational activity is intended to train Healthcare Professionals in caring for cancer patients under the age of 50. It will address coping strategies for young patients experiencing advanced or progressive disease. Tools and resources will be listed along with methods of treating young cancer patients with kindness and compassionate care.
